A behind-the-scenes look, as Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Limited Edition celebrates Kuwait’s historical milestones with a special video tribute…
Jaeger-LeCoultre is privileged to be part of Kuwait’s historical milestones this year as the country celebrates its 55th National Day on February 25th, and the 25th anniversary of its Liberation on February 26th. To celebrate these remarkable moments, Jaeger-LeCoultre has launched a Limited Edition collection of two unique Reverso watches. The Limited Edition 55 Grande Reverso 976 Steel, a masterful expression of illustrious watchmaking, has been created to mark the 55th National Day of Kuwait, while the Limited Edition 25 Grande Reverso 976 Pink Gold is an enduring and admirable celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kuwait.
On the occasion, Jaeger-LeCoultre invited some of Kuwait’s most prominent influencers to participate in a unique video and share their thoughts about what Kuwait and being Kuwaiti means to them. The result is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Limited Edition video: a moving and inspiring tribute to Kuwait, to its rich history, heritage and development as seen through archival footage, and above all, to its people; a reflection of their pride and passion for their beloved country.
Featured in the video, among others, is Mr. Ali Morad Behbehani, President of the Behbehani Group. He wears the Limited Edition 25 Grande Reverso 976 in Pink Gold, and is shown on location at his office as he speaks with obvious pride about the creation of a Limited Edition for this special occasion. Mrs. Balsam Al Ayoub, Fencing Champion and Sports Consultant is shown next, on location at the Kuwait Sports Club. She too wears the Limited Edition 25 Grande Reverso 976 in Pink Gold as she reflects on the most precious times in the country’s history. Mr. Saud Al Yaqout, a watch aficionado, wearing the Limited Edition 55 Grande Reverso 976 Steel, shares his thoughts on the iconic timepiece as an enduring reflection of Kuwaiti values, as well as his ideas on what makes him proud to be Kuwaiti. Mrs. Lulwa Al Ayoub, Fencing Champion and Social Entrepreneur, wearing the Limited Edition 55 Grande Reverso 976 Steel speaks of her hopes for the future of the country. Finally, Mr. Hassan Al Mosawi, Entrepreneur, also wearing the Limited Edition 55 Grande Reverso 976 Steel, draws a parallel between the Reverso Limited Edition and his country, finding both to be ‘works of art’ that ‘tell a beautiful story’. The latter three personalities were all shot on location at the JW Marriott.
Each contributor was asked to choose their most significant moment in Kuwaiti history, and explain why that particular time was of significance to them. They were also asked what makes them proud to be Kuwaiti, what they value most about the heritage of Kuwait and how they think the continuity of the past can be carried forward for a new generation. The inspiring, engaging and evocative conclusion is a video that Jaeger-LeCoultre is delighted to share across social and online media.
Since it was founded in 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre has taken pride in delighting connoisseurs of fine watchmaking with iconic timepieces such as the Reverso. Reverso traces its heritage back to 1931 when it was first designed for its functional aspect of a reversible case (ideal for the tough demands of a polo game or for those who want a little extra case protection). From its very inception, Reverso has enchanted with its concealed surprises: the unexpected facet of a customized, tailor-made design (either engraved, lacquered, enameled or set with gems), or a complexity such as found in the duoface or duetto concepts. In 2016, Reverso celebrates 85 years of history in setting the standard in elegant and polished performance with its pure and refined lines, artisanal craftsmanship and unique lineage of collections.
