Tissot to Open Fourth New York City Boutique at the WTC by NBA Legend Nate Archibald
Tissot Continues to Drive Brand Awareness and Consumer Preference in New York through Role as “Official Timekeeper of the New York Knicks” and “Official Timepiece of Madison Square Garden”
August 16, 2016, New York, NY – Today, Swiss Watchmaker Tissot announced the opening of a groundbreaking new watch boutique in the United States located at New York’s Westfield Mall in the World Trade Center. This marks Tissot’s fourth boutique in New York, with three other boutiques already established in Times Square, Fifth Avenue and Wall Street, making Tissot one of the largest watch companies with a continued retail venture in the city.
Tissot joined the entire Westfield World Trade Center Mall in opening their doors with a special “Family Day” in collaboration with the 9/11 Tribute Center and HEART 9/11 and with support from the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. As Official Timekeeper of the NBA, Tissot provided a special experience for these families and New Yorkers with a meet-and-greet and autograph signing with NBA Legend Nate “Tiny” Archibald at the new boutique. Nate is a born and raised New Yorker who spent 14 years in the NBA, making his mark as an NBA Champion, 7x NBA All-Star and ultimately being enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1991.
Visitors to the boutique were also invited to enter for a chance to spin a “Wheel of Prizes” which included a Tony Parker signed jersey, tickets to an upcoming NY Knicks game, a Tissot Everytime watch and much more. Fans could also play the new basketball video game “HOOPS by Tissot” for a chance to win a Tissot watch. “HOOPS by Tissot” is available for download on Apple and Android.
The boutique will signify a new retail concept for Tissot with animated graphics, unique customer experiences, striking brand ambassador visuals and of course a broad watch selection from Tissot’s many collections; Touch Collection, T-Sport, T-Lady, T-Classic, T-Heritage, T-Gold, Pocket and Special Collections. A “Watchmakers Corner” will also be a featured element with a Swatch Group watch specialist available for on premise sizing and repairs.
“Tissot’s potential for market growth in the United States is limitless, and our introduction of the Tissot World Trade Center boutique – our fourth in New York City – is a testament to our dedication to developing a love for traditional Swiss watches in America,” said François Thiébaud, Tissot President. “Tissot proudly welcomes New Yorkers and visiting guests alike to experience our quality products and celebrate the opening of this new retail mecca in the heart of downtown Manhattan.”
“The World Trade Center is a symbol of hope, opportunity, progress, and perseverance,” said William Hecht, Westfield’s Chief Operating Officer in the United States. “Westfield is profoundly proud to be a part of this project and to introduce new experiences and energy to Lower Manhattan. We are incredibly excited to open our doors to our neighbors, New York and tri-state area families, visitors, and all of our partners on August 16th.”
The store will be located in the Westfield World Trade Center Mall, located at 185 Greenwich St. More information on Tissot watches can be found at Follow Tissot on Facebook for upcoming events and promotions.
